16 Candles

Happy Golden Sweet 16 Angela!

Sixteen on the 16th! Enjoy your special day. xoxox

Sooo Pretty!

The Karoubas house has gotten a facelift this summer! Mom has re-landscaped her front yard and has gotten rave reviews! As a matter of fact, for the first time ever, she has won the prestigious "Beautification Award" from the City of Palos Hills.

We are all so excited for our mom and her beautiful yard! Let her know how you like it too!

Out of Commission

AAWW, my little sis! Poor Eleni broke her leg on Monday and is in a cast for the next 2 months! I don't know how Dominick's will survive without her.

The Karamihas family is now accepting monetary donations in any amount ;)

Karamihas & Pappas - Florida Trip

Katherine came down to her condo in LightHouse Bay and was visited by The Pappas Pride and Karamihas Klan. Needless to say, a wonderful time was had by all with side trips to Tarpon Springs and Universal by the Karamihases and a visit to Busch Gardens by the Pappas contingent. The whole group went to Billie Swamp Seminole Reservation and took and Air Boat through the swamp then they all hopped onto a Swamp Buggy and took an eco-safari through the swamp and saw bison, water buffalo, ostrich, elk, panther, black bear - you get the picture! Lots of food and great Karounos hospitality from Uncle George and Aunt Barbara, visits to Sanibel Island and Ft. Myers Beach Pier capped off this first of many visits to Katherine's home in LightHouse Bay!!!

Yiayia in Las Vegas

Well we tried to keep up with her - it was all we could do. The slots weren't kind but what a great time we had! Pat, Katherine and I took Yiayia to Las Vegas (luckily, it had dropped about 26 degrees from the previous couple of days).
We stayed at the Luxor and visited the Venetian, Caesar's Palace, and Mandalay Bay. Yiayia had her caricature done, saw the sharks, and saw the famous Jubilee - which featured two of her favorite themes, Samson & Delilah and Titanic.

Lake Day

This is the second year I have worked for Fortune and for my sainted boss Jim Deavours. Every year Jim invites all his employees and their families (even their dogs, but Trumpet had a previous engagement) for a day on the lake. Jim and his fiancee, Mariola, wait on us hand and foot, spoil us with wonderful gourmet food, and keep the beer and wine flowing on their 88 foot double decker house boat.

We set out from his dock and cruise across Lake Lanier to this island that has about 5 miles of shore line. The kids go ashore and fish, dig in the sand, and swim. The grown ups eat and drink and ride the jet skies. It's great.

Here's Muscle Man Mark and the boys cooling off in the water after they went exploring. We didn't see any, but were told that there are deer on the island! Mariola said she's seen them swimming across the lake from one small island to another. Who knew?

Conn loves affection.

Mark grinning and bearing it.

Yes, that is a widescreen plasma TV on the bow. Oh, and there's the lake.

I fear the boys are teetering on teenage, check the 'tudes.
Well, that's the news from Lake Woebegone. Love to all of you. xoxoxxoxo
